DescriptionThis leather billy has solid handle and bendable mid section. It has a leather outer skin that is braided around a spring in the middle and has formed load in the end. The spring causes a whiping action when you flick your wrist. This was a very effective weapon when law enforcement use to carry them.
Most departments do not allow officers to use this weapon anymore, but a lot of collectors buy them for their collections.

These blackjacks are really good quality, easy to conceal, and they pack a HELL of a wallop.
The problem being they're a little too effective, which is why cops don't use them anymore. They bruise bones with a light tap and shatter them with a hard blow. A solid blast to the body with one of these things can damage internal organs, and a good hit to the head will likely kill. Very important to know that these items are very dangerous and should be treated with respect.
If you've never handled one of these things, believe me the picture doesn't really convey what a wicked little weapon this thing is. The second you pick one up and feel it in your hand and get a sense of the weight and forward-balance of it, you'll know instantly how dangerous it could be and imagine the damage it could do . . . and hopefully also understand that it must never be used for defense but in the most dire circumstance.
For the price, this is definitely a top-quality item and definitely belongs in any law enforcement history museum or private collection.
