2 oz. DPS X-Stream Range Flip Top Spray
DescriptionDPS X-Stream Range™ Duty sprays consist of 2 & 4 oz. units which are the most common among law enforcement agencies. What makes our units so different for the competition is we call it the "DPS Range for Safety Advantage™". Our 4 oz stream unit fires and amazing 20 feet!. The 2oz stream unit fires 16-17 feet'. This is nearly twice the distance of most defense sprays. That distance can save your life! This is exactly why DPS is quickly becoming the spray of choice among law enforcement agencies and correctional facilities in the US and abroad. Too many companies brag about the heat of their spray when they can't hit the guy from 10 feet away. You have to hit the perpetrator for the pepper spray to do the job. Our spray is not only one of the hottest in the industry (Laboratory tested) but we can target the bad guy from up to 20 feet away. No other spray gives you this safety distance to separate you from the subject. Can dimensions are:
2 oz. unit - 4" tall and 1-5/16" diameter
4 oz. unit - 5-3/4" tall and 1-7/16" diameter
As of December 06 we now have DPS in a "Cone Fog" pattern. It fires 10-12 feet. Our X-Stream Range sprays were designed as "ballistic stream" to give the maximum distance but many customers want the fog pattern because you do not have to be as accurate when you fire. So when our customers ask, we deliver. Our "Full Cone Fog" as we call it is available in 2 or 4 oz. sizes.

Comparison test of Fox Labs 2oz stream and DPS 2oz stream
I decided to not do a direct test onto the face due to the fact that I have been sprayed before and these products are close in stats and will hurt like hell if sprayed in the face.
Fox labs:

Test spray non direct 2 sec spray in confined area.
Fox Labs
I sprayed Fox Labs OC onto the test area then stood back approx 10 to 12 feet with 4 other volunteers. After about 15-20 seconds we were all overwhelmed with severe typical OC effects, I.e. burning throght and eyes and of course the normal respiratory effects. (Coughing) The effects were severe enough to drive us to open the garage door and evacuate the area.
DPS
I sprayed DPS OC into the test area and stood back approx. 10 to 12 feet with 4 other volunteers.
After about 30 to 40 sec only the one female with higher sensitivity stepped back further and after a full min I noticed a slight tickle and more of an odor of OC. 3 out of 5 including myself did not seem as effected by DPS than all of us did the night before with the Fox OC
Skin Test: 1/2 oz in medicine cup turned upside down on top of forearm.
This test was performed simultaneously with the help of two volunteers. 20 sec test
Fox Labs Right Forearm
Immediately severe burning sensation I wanted nothing more than to stop the test and remove it.
This test left me with a horrid red mark on my arm that peeled and lasted 3 days it was tender to the touch for about 8 hours after the test was over.
DPS Left Forearm
It burnt and was not pleasant but compared to the pain on my right arm I could have kept it on all day pain subsided after about 5 hours and the redness went away after about a day
Conclusion
I had a debate of which to carry on duty and off. If you want a spray that puts serious distance between you and your attacker buy DPS although it came in 2nd it does hurt and will stop someone. If you was the most evil spray on the market go with Fox Labs its truly terrible stuff. He who has been sprayed with this stuff will not ever want to again. It just shuts you down and the only thing you care about is getting deconed (sudecon works great jlusa.com)
These two OC products beat a stun gun any day (I can fight out a stun gun) (NOT TASER)
