Order Information

You have 4 ordering options:

1. Credit Card
If you want to pay online simply browse and order at will, then select pay by credit card on the order form and follow the instructions. once completed you will have a copy of the invoice to print for your records.

2. Mail in Order
If you want to mail in your order and pay by check, money order or cash, simply browse and order at will, then select pay by check on the order form and follow the instructions. once completed you will have a copy of your totaled invoice ready to print and mail to us with payment.

3. Fax Order
If you want to Fax in your order and pay by credit card or check, simply browse and order at will, then select pay by check on the order form and follow the instructions. Once completed you will have a copy of your totaled invoice ready to print and fax to us. If you want to pay by credit card you must write your credit card number and expiration date on the invoice. If you want to pay by check, tape a check written out to us for the total on the invoice to a piece of paper and fax it along with your invoice to 304-258-3100. Be sure to include your drivers license # and state of issue for faster processing.

4. Call in Order
You can call in an order at 304-258-2900. If you call during business hours, you will get one of the J & L sales team to assist you. After hours you can leave us a message and we will get back to you on the next business day. If you have questions about anything feel free to call us at 304-258-2900

Shipping Information

Our shipping charges are actual for UPS. You are given choices on most orders as to how fast you want the items delivered. We also offer a base Flat Rate Ground for orders under $48.99, and the option for FREE Ground shipping on orders over $49.00 (Continental USA only). The base rates are shown here:

This flat rate applies to most items on the site. There are some items which have a shipping charge such as bulk long term food and the shipping cost is shown on the product page.

Most orders in before 3:00 PM EST are shipped same day. Orders in after 3:00 will be processed the next business day. Most orders shipped within the continental US will be via USPS or UPS UPS Day, 2nd day or Express Delivery. Please note pepper spray cannot be shipped expedited.
2nd Day Shipping means 2 business days. I.E. an order shipped on Friday would arrive in Tuesday. Express Shipping means the next business day. I.E. an order shipped on Friday would arrive on Monday. Saturday Shipping is available to some areas. All Saturday deliveries must be arranged over the phone. Saturday shipping is not available online.

AK, HI, PR, GU and VI orders can ship US Mail but there are restrictions on pepper spray. 

PLEASE NOTE:
Bad addresses, missing apartment numbers, re-routes to another address (your work or a friends house etc.) will result in a service charge. UPS and Fed Ex charge $5.00 for ground corrections and $10.00 for expedited corrections. They charge us, so we will have no choice but to charge you. To avoid any corrections charges please double check your address before you submit your order.

The only real restriction is pepper spray which must ship ground.

Claims:
Any claims of damage, loss, shortages or missing items must be made within 5 days of receiving the items.

Foreign Orders

  • All orders outside the US are handled on a case by case basis. This is because of various governments and customs regulations worldwide that may prohibit some of our products from crossing their borders as well as US export restrictions for some items.
  • We cannot export stun guns, batons, handcuffs, pepper spray and some other items without an export license. We will only apply for an export license for large orders that we pre-qualify as suitable items for export. If you are looking for item in bulk please contact us with your information and we will review your request.
  • If we give you a shipping quote and send you an item/items there are no guarantees. This means that you pay for the item even if it gets confiscated. If they send it back we can try to reship or send you a refund minus shipping charges. Payment will need to made in advance.

Duties & Customs Charges:

All Customs rules, clearance and any expropriation actions in your country are the sole responsibility of the buyer. We strongly encourage you to contact your local customs agency and confirm that it is legal to import any type of self defense product before you consider an order. We cannot be held liable for packages lost or seized by your local customs agency

Customs may charge you additional duties, tariffs or other charges upon delivery of your package. We do not have a means of determining how much these charges will be. Please contact your local customs authorities to inquire directly. These charges are unrelated to the shipping charges and are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

In plain terms, all duties and taxes assessed by your governments are your responsibility.


60-Day Return Policy & Warranty

At J & L Self Defense Products, Inc., customer satisfaction is our top priority. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, you’re welcome to return it.

How to Initiate a Return

  • To return an item, you must request a Return Authorization (RA) by either:
    • Calling us at 1-800-313-6400
    • Submitting a request via our contact form
  • RA requests must be made within 30 days of delivery.

Refund & Credit Policy

  • Returns within 30 days of delivery are eligible for a refund to the original payment method, minus shipping costs.
  • Returns between 31-60 days are eligible for store credit or an exchange.
  • Refunds or store credit will only be processed after we receive and inspect the returned item.

Return Conditions

  • Full Refund: Items returned in brand-new, unused condition, with all original packaging and components intact, qualify for a 100% refund (excluding shipping costs).
  • Restocking Fee: Items that show signs of use or have opened, non-resealable packaging are subject to a 30% restocking fee.
  • No Refund: Items missing components, in non-working condition, or otherwise not meeting return criteria will not be eligible for a refund.

Shipping Costs & Deductions

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. We do not provide return labels unless the return is due to an error on our part or a problem with an item.
  • Orders that qualified for free shipping will have our actual shipping cost deducted from the refund. Shipping is never truly free—we cover the cost on orders over $49.00, but if an item is returned, the original shipping expense will be deducted from your refund.
  • Prepaid Return Label Option: If you prefer, we can provide a prepaid return label, but the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Restocking Fees & Non-Returnable Items

The following product categories are subject to a 30% restocking fee—no exceptions:

Return Conditions for These Products

  • To receive a 70% refund of your purchase price, the item must be returned in its original box with ALL components included.
  • If the product is returned with missing or damaged components, or without its original box, your return will not be processed and no refund will be issued.

Sale Items

  • Items marked as Sale items are NOT returnable under any circumstances.

Miscellaneous

  • Sales Tax: Orders shipped to an address in West Virginia are subject to a 6% sales tax on the total order amount.

  • Product Information: Product specifications, images, and descriptions are subject to change by the manufacturer without prior notice. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, J & L Self Defense Products, Inc. is not responsible for typographical errors, omissions, or misprints.

  • Pricing & Availability:

    • Prices are subject to change at any time without notice.
    • Order fulfillment is subject to product availability.
    • Sales, promotions, or discounts cannot be combined with other offers or applied to previous purchases.
    • All orders are subject to final acceptance by J & L Self Defense Products, Inc.

  • Returned Checks & Payment Issues:

    • If a check is returned due to insufficient funds or any other reason, a fee of $25 or the maximum amount permitted by law will be applied.
    • Returned checks and associated fees may be electronically processed for collection.
    • The check writer is responsible for all costs incurred by J & L Self Defense Products, Inc. in collecting unpaid funds.

Legal

Compliance with Local, State, and Federal Laws

J & L Self Defense Products, Inc. (DBA J & L Distribution) will not sell any products in violation of federal, state, or local laws. Some jurisdictions prohibit the possession or use of stun guns and other self-defense items listed on our website.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable laws before placing an order. If you are uncertain about the legal status of a product in your area, we strongly recommend consulting local, state, or federal authorities before making a purchase.

Eligibility to Purchase

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian permission to purchase from our site.
  • You are legally permitted to own and use the products you order.
  • You will use all products only for legal purposes.
  • If purchasing locksmithing tools, you affirm that you are a bona fide member of the locksmithing industry or other qualified personnel, without fraud or deception.

J & L Self Defense Products, Inc. reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, especially if we suspect the products may be used for unlawful purposes.

Liability Disclaimer

Once a product is in your possession, J & L Self Defense Products, Inc. assumes no liability for its use or misuse. The buyer is solely responsible for:

  • The use, storage, transportation, and handling of any purchased product.
  • Any legal consequences, injuries, damages, or losses arising from possession or use.

Our products are sold with the understanding that J & L Self Defense Products, Inc. is not liable for any arrest, accident, injury, loss, or damage related to their use or inability to use.

Training & Responsibility

Jurisdiction & Legal Disputes

Any legal disputes that arise between the buyer and J & L Self Defense Products, Inc. that cannot be resolved through negotiation shall be subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of Morgan County, West Virginia.
