The Byrna SD (Self Defense) is the successor of the Byrna HD. It has been re-engineered for optimal performance.

The Byrna SD is NOT a firearm*, but is an incredibly powerful and effective self-defense weapon for men and women of all ages and abilities. There are no waiting periods or special permits or background checks and no special licenses required to purchase or own the Byrna HD. Some states and municipalities may regulate use and possession. 

The Byrna SD (Home Defense) is an incredibly powerful and effective non-lethal self-defense weapon that can be taken virtually anywhere.

The Byrna SD is a air powered launcher powered by compressed air (CO₂), the Byrna HD shoots .68 caliber round kinetic projectiles and chemical irritant projectiles that can disable a threat from up to 60-feet away. 

The Byrna SD kit comes with 5 rounds of Byrna kinetic projectiles that move fast and hit hard. If you want irritant rounds you have to purchase separately. Byrna recently stopped shipping pepper rounds in the kit to make the kit legal in all 50 states.

We have two different Byrna irritant rounds available in 5 packs. We offer Byrna Pepper and Byrna Max OC/CS Blend. Byrna Max projectiles are designed for maximum stopping power.

We also offer other options of .68 caliber ammo.

Physical symptoms of chemical irritants often result in disorientation and agitation, which can lead to a state of fear, anxiety and panic in would-be attackers. Upon impact the projectiles burst, creating a cloud of chemical irritant that rapidly disperses into the air to quickly incapacitate an attacker.
